There are so many ways I feel like I've failed to meet other people's expectations because of depression, but it feels wrong to say "I'm sorry I can't [fill in the blank]. My mental health makes that impossible for me right now.."Mrs. Pastorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17903714560827794373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7237726868006702282.post-11602546544807240702010-03-27T16:53:08.352-05:002010-03-27T16:53:08.352-05:00What a beautiful post. I, too, have times of depression, but when I look up into the shining sky, or the lake behind our house, or into the faces of my children, I see God and my depression lifts.
Lindsey Petersen5 Kids With Disabilitieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08609530174946427058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7237726868006702282.post-26827579219029136902010-03-24T18:29:38.314-05:002010-03-24T18:29:38.314-05:00I can so relate to this post right now. I also understand what you're saying about church. Some days I wish I could just live in a constant Divine Service!

SaraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7237726868006702282.post-67070776123190676072010-03-24T16:36:58.564-05:002010-03-24T16:36:58.564-05:00I so agree with what you wrote about how we can kn...I so agree with what you wrote about how we can know that things are actually good and right and that we have many blessings, all the while feeling the complete opposite. And I don't know how to handle that. There were times somebody would say, "Why don't you appreciate all the good things happening in your life?" and I had NO idea why I didn't. I can't see or experience the "joy of salvation" that Psalm 51 holds up. It is hidden, sometimes more than others. But it is still true.

-DMRToddPeperkornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16170734854932272327noreply@blogger.com
